Project Runway Has Helped Revitalized The Dying Art of Sewing
“For a while it looked as if home sewing was going the way of butter churning. It seldom saved money over cheap, imported clothing, and its dowdy image was a turnoff for young career women. Then came "Project Runway," now in its seventh season, the Bravo-TV reality show -- think "Survivor" for fashion designers -- has touched off a home-sewing renaissance among young, urban hipsters eager to add fabric draping and bobbin winding to their repertoire of craft skills" (Goodnow, 2010).

Dr. Williamson loves to sew!
I have to admit that I know nothing about sewing. I took a class in 5th grade, bought the machine, etc. and outgrew the pattern before I ever finished it! However, my husband can sew and has created some great cornices and shades for our sun room!!
You blog is set up so nicely, great job! I wish I knew how to sew, but I haven't had any experience with it other than to fix some minor tears to make something last beyond its time. My mother-in-law is so talented in her sewing skills, just wish I had to the time to learn.
I also have absolutely no sewing skills, although I really, really, wish I did!! I am getting married in October and could use the skills to alter dresses, make table runners, etc....
On another note, I have to agree with Cheryl...your blog looks amazing!! The set-up is great!
I have to say, this is an excellent looking blog that you have set up, well done!
As for sewing, I actually have been forced to learn some extremely basic techniques over the years. Being a single guy, when a button falls off, you need to do something about it! Past that, I would be all thumbs but still have a good amount of respect for those that have mastered it. Good job!
